Oakdale Fatal Solo Vehicle Accident

I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident lawyer. A man from Oakdale was traveling in his vehicle during the late evening hours of Friday, February 24, 2017. The man allegedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree. The accident resulted in the man suffering fatal injuries.

What Happened?

A 38-year-old Oakdale man was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed in his 2010 Chevrolet westbound along River Road at about 10:10 pm. For unknown reasons, the man allowed his vehicle to drive off the roadway on the north side of River Road. The man’s vehicle struck a tree head-on moments before coming to a rest on the side of the road. There were no other vehicles or occupants involved in the accident.

What Caused the Accident?

It is still unclear to authorities as to what caused the accident. It generally takes up to two weeks for a Traffic Collision Report to be generated. However, investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Fatal Nature of Injuries

Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office later identified the driver as 38-year-old Nathan James Dempster.

Our condolences are with the loved ones of the man that passed away in this tragic solo vehicle accident.
