One Injury Reported Following Watt Avenue Two-Vehicle Crash

A two-vehicle crash in North Highlands on June 20 injured one person, and the other motorist fled the scene before authorities arrived. The collision happened around 7:30 in the morning along northbound Watt Avenue just south of Orange Grove Avenue. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the two-vehicle crash involved a Lexus SUV and Honda SUV.

The vehicles blocked the roadway following the accident. First responders with the Sacramento Fire Department determined that the individual in the vehicle that remained at the scene suffered unspecified injuries. The accident is being investigated by authorities to determine how it occurred. The hit-and-run driver is being sought.

Obtaining Advice Following a Two-Vehicle Crash

Most motorists may wonder if they need an attorney following a two-vehicle crash. To them, it probably seems obvious that the other fellow was at fault. However, the at-fault driver and his/her insurance company will probably do whatever they can to avoid liability. After all, the insurance company could end up paying compensation for all the injured person’s medical bills, for their lost salary because they couldn’t work and reimbursing them for their pain and suffering. Depending on the injury, that can cost the insurer or negligent party a lot of money.

Getting Fair Compensation

Our team of injury lawyers has successfully gotten fair compensation for many North Highlands residents as well as other Northern Californians for many years. We know the tricks pulled by insurance companies to avoid paying and realize that evidence is needed to ensure our clients obtain their compensation. Otherwise, they may end up having to pay out of pocket, which can leave them straddled with debt for years.

How Personal Injury Lawyers Work

Personal injury attorneys frequently offer a free first consultation. During this meeting or phone call, the injured party can ask questions, tell the lawyer how their accident occurred and have a case review performed to find out whether they may place a claim for compensation. The lawyer will tell them what options are available.

If the lawyer takes their case, the injured party owes nothing until they win. Since claimants that use a lawyer often recover two to three times the amount an injured party would get on their own, consulting with one can be a good idea.

Collecting Evidence to Support a Client’s Claim for Compensation

Evidence is collected to provide strong support for a client’s compensation claim. This includes reviewing the police report for errors and taking statements from witnesses to the two-vehicle crash. In addition, accident reconstruction is performed, and the area is searched for surveillance cameras that could have caught the accident on tape. The area is also checked for government negligence that might have caused the accident. The government agency responsible for maintenance may be held liable. Once the evidence is gathered, our injury attorneys compile it into a strong case to support our client’s claim.
