Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in Injury Accident

No information was issued on whether the injured party was transported to a hospital or treated at the scene. The CHP is on the lookout for the suspect vehicle, which is believed to be a black SUV with a female driver, who was last seen going toward Butterball from Elkhorn Boulevard. A tow truck was required to remove the Toyota Corolla with moderate damage to its front end.

Looking for Hit-and-Run Drivers

An attorney can help you locate a driver who fled the scene and hold them accountable when you have been injured by one. The pain and suffering of being injured and unable to work as well as enduring high medical bills, are tough enough. Your injuries should be the responsibility of the fleeing driver who caused your trauma. This is precisely what our law firm has done over the years to locate hit-and-run drivers and hold them accountable.

  • One of the traffic surveillance cameras may have captured the accident as it happened, so it is a valuable source of information.
  • At the accident site, paint marks and metal from the other car are checked on the vehicle struck and the surrounding area. In this way, the model and make of the vehicle can be determined.
  • Information can also be obtained from witnesses. There is a possibility that a witness saw the accident unfold and remembered part of the license plate number. Some witnesses may be able to identify a hit-and-run vehicle and even the driver behind it since they often live close by.
  • A crash reconstruction is conducted to determine how the at-fault driver’s actions led to the collision. Insurers and civil courts accept this kind of evidence.

To support our client’s claim for compensation, our accident attorneys construct a solid case using the evidence gathered.

Compensation Can Be Recovered Through Insurance Coverage

Medical expenses may be covered by the injured person’s uninsured/underinsured policy if the other party is unable to pay for the damages caused by the accident. Drivers, passengers, bicycle riders, and pedestrians are all covered by this add-on insurance. It is possible to use another member of your immediate family’s insurance instead of your own, if you didn’t choose to take this coverage. No changes are made to the policy rates.

Settlement of an Insurance Claim by Arbitration

A lawyer can represent you in arbitration if you and the insurance company can’t agree on the amount. Injuries and medical bills can be compensated more effectively with an injury lawyer’s experience dealing with insurance companies. Since the evidence and documentation of your injuries will already have been gathered by your attorney, if the insurance company refuses to provide the compensation you deserve, the case can be taken to civil court.
