A Newark crash with injuries was reported on southbound Interstate 880, just north of the Stevenson Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred around 11:35 a.m. on August 26 and involved three vehicles. The crash blocked lanes two and three of the freeway, causing traffic delays in the area as emergency crews worked at the scene.

Investigation Will Determine Cause of Newark Crash With Injuries

The Fremont Fire Department was called to assist and dispatched medical personnel to treat individuals who sustained injuries in the crash. The extent of those injuries has not been released at this time. The CHP traffic crash unit is investigating to determine the cause of the multi-vehicle collision. Motorists were advised to use caution and expect delays while crews cleared the scene.

How Soon Should I Contact Your Law Firm After My Crash?

It is best to contact a lawyer as soon as possible after a Newark crash with injuries, ideally right after your immediate medical needs are addressed and before talking to insurance companies. Acting quickly helps preserve critical evidence, avoid common mistakes, comply with filing deadlines, and maximize your compensation potential.

Why Early Contact Matters

  • Preserving Evidence: Physical evidence, such as vehicle damage, skid marks, and surveillance footage, can deteriorate or be lost quickly. A lawyer can secure this evidence right away.
  • Protecting Your Rights: Insurance companies often act fast to minimize payouts and may pressure you into accepting a low settlement. An attorney prevents you from making statements or signing documents that compromise your case.
  • Timely Medical Documentation: Delays in seeking legal or medical help can weaken your claim. Insurers may argue injuries are not related to the accident if treatment and documentation lag behind.
  • Meeting Deadlines: Missing statutory deadlines can mean losing the right to seek compensation. Early involvement helps ensure all paperwork is filed on time.

Risks of Waiting

  • Loss of Evidence and Witness Reliability: Over time, witnesses’ memories fade and physical evidence disappears, hurting case strength.
  • Missed Deadlines: Statute-of-limitations rules can bar your claim if you wait too long.
  • Insurance Company Advantage: Delaying legal help allows insurers to build defenses and push for lower settlements.
  • Weaker Medical Records: Gaps in treatment and documentation can make it harder to connect injuries directly to the accident.
