Natomas Freeway Construction: Will it ever end?
Almost five years ago, construction commenced on the I-80 freeway in Sacramento County. The area of construction is generally located in Natomas and North Sacramento. The project’s purpose is to repair existing roadways and add carpool lanes. So, why on earth is it taking so long?
Original Contractor Drops out of Project
Recently, we learned that the contractor heading up the work dropped out of the project. However, one of its affiliate companies will be taking over the construction.

So what does this mean for Natomas and North Sacramento commuters? According to Cal Trans, the project is still on target. Caltrans claims the project is 75 percent complete. The work is slated to be finished by late summer. Here is to looking forward to this lengthy construction coming to an end!
