Napa Resident Identified After Local Collision

On Friday, November 1, 2019, officials of the Napa County Sheriff’s Department released the identity of a man who sadly passed away during a local auto accident. The man was identified as 60-year-old Napa Resident Charles Vance. According to the Napa Police Department (NPD), the accident happened a few days earlier during the afternoon of Tuesday, October 29, 2019. The collision involved two vehicles and reportedly did not cause any further injuries. NPD has stated that they have this accident under active investigation.

Crash Information

The collision happened at around 2:45 p.m. Vance was driving on Monticello Road close to the intersection of Vichy Avenue. At the same time, a 33-year-old man was driving on Monticello in the opposite direction, approaching Vance’s vehicle. The second vehicle reportedly veered left and entered oncoming lanes before colliding head-on with Vance’s car.

After the crash took place, NPD received a call notifying them of the accident and immediately dispatched response officials to the collision scene. When emergency personnel reached the wreck, they found Vance in his vehicle with critical trauma. Vance was placed on an ambulance and rushed to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center. However, hospital staff could not stabilize him, and Vance tragically lost his life shortly after arriving.

Investigation

As police continue to look into possible causes of this accident, no suspected collision factors have been reported specifically. According to police, the site of the crash was shut down to traffic for 45 minutes while officers conducted initial evidence gathering and investigation. Officers indicated that both vehicle occupants had been wearing their seat belts when the crash occurred.

When a person loses their life during a crash, investigators lose that person’s testimony about what happened. This can make it difficult for police to fully understand the events leading up to an accident, and, in many cases, this means that key factors like malfunctioning vehicle parts or roadway hazards go unnoticed. For this reason, it’s important for families to contact a lawyer who knows how to launch a private investigation into the accident and defend their right to claim compensation from negligent parties.

Wrongful Death Damages

When families lose a member after a car accident, it can have devastating effects. Losing a person that you love is not only very difficult to process emotionally, but a sudden death can also cause serious financial problems for households. Fatal collisions can leave families saddled with high medical expenses and also often means losing a major source of income. These concerns can leave people feeling overwhelmed, and many families do not know how they will be able to continue living their lives. For this reason, contacting a wrongful death lawyer who can help your family hold negligent parties financially responsible is often critical.
