Suspected Napa DUI Causes Trauma

On Saturday, May 23, 2020, three people were injured during a suspected Napa DUI crash. Information from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicates that the crash occurred during the evening on a highway location in a rural area of Napa County. Reportedly, one person has been placed under arrest on DUI charges related to the incident.

Collision Information

The accident occurred at about 6:40 on Highway 121, a short distance south of the junction at Highway 128 in the area of Moskowite Corner. A 2007 Ford Escape driven by a 22-year-old woman from Brentwood was heading south of 121 when the vehicle veered left and crossed over into northbound traffic. After veering, the Escape traveled into the path of a 2017 Volkswagen Golf, and the two vehicles collided head-on.

Response to Alleged Napa DUI

Police arrived at the accident scene shortly after it was reported to CHP dispatch. When officers reached the scene, they found that both the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen had been injured. The passenger of the Ford was also reportedly found with injuries. Whether or not any of these parties were hospitalized was not reported. However, responders indicated that none of the injuries were critical.

The driver of the Ford was placed under arrest at the scene on a felony count of causing injury by driving while impaired. The woman was in the custody of the Napa County jail at the time of reporting.
