NPD stated that the process was scheduled to begin during the night of Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. the following day and that the department would place special patrols at key locations within the city. The same operation was also conducted during the night of Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Napa Motorcycle Accidents Overview

According to information made public by the State of California, the city of Napa saw 3,575 traumatic car accidents reported during 2006-2007. These crashes involved a total of 187 motorcycle accidents, which accounted for around five percent of the collisions overall. Notably, motorcycle accidents were more than twice as deadly as crashes in general, resulting in a fatality rate of about two percent. Most of Napa’s motorcycle accidents were either rear-end or broadside collisions, which both accounted for about one-third of the crashes in question.

Driving under the influence was listed as the third most common motorcycle accident factor and was preceded by right-of-way violations and speeding. DUI was the primary causal factor in nearly 17 percent of traumatic motorcycle collisions. Additionally, over nine percent of Napa motorcycle accidents involving an impaired driver was fatal. This means that motorcycle crashes involving DUI were well over four times more likely to cause a fatal injury than those without impaired drivers.

Motorcycle Accidents and Personal Injury Claims

However, an experienced Napa motorcycle accident attorney will be able to work with you to combat these stereotypes and help juries and insurers better understand your case.
