Multiple-Vehicle Accident Reported Near Napa

Red-Light Runner May Have Caused Multiple-Vehicle Accident

A multiple-vehicle accident on March 15 south of Napa caused minor injuries. The collision occurred along Highway 12, better known as Jameson Canyon Road, close to South Kelly Road around 11:40 a.m. A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said three vehicles were involved in the collision, including a Vallejo man, age 41, driving a Dodge Journey.

Minor Injuries Reported in Crash

The driver of the Dodge was going north on South Kelly when he ran a red light, entering the path of two other vehicles going west on Jameson Canyon. One of the vehicles was a Ford F-150 and the other an Audi TT. The impact of the collision resulted in the Dodge turning over and ending up in an industrial park at the northwest corner of the intersection. All of the drivers suffered minor injuries as well as a passenger riding in the Audi. All declined medical assistance.

The Complexity of a Multiple-Vehicle Accident

Multiple-vehicle collisions can result in an automobile being hit multiple times, and the fault may lie in more than one driver. An injury lawyer can provide assistance in such a case by holding all negligent parties responsible. Evidence must be provided to support a compensation claim, so an investigation is necessary. In this investigation, it will be determined who was at fault and what the extent of their liability is. Areas where evidence is gathered include the following:

  • At the crash scene of the multiple-vehicle accident, we collect evidence before it is covered up or disappears.
  • Photographing the scene is essential, especially paint smears and marks, as these can help determine which vehicle/vehicles struck the client.
  • By performing accident reconstruction, we see how the accident occurred, how the vehicles were positioned and where they ended up. This type of evidence is accepted by both insurance companies and civil courts.
  • An examination of the police report is conducted to uncover any erroneous information. This is necessary because mistakes in the report filed by the police could adversely affect our client’s ability to file a compensation claim.
  • In order to determine how the accident occurred and how all the vehicles collided, investigators speak to witnesses.
  • In order to determine whether the multiple-vehicle crash was captured on tape, investigators examine the traffic cameras in the area.

Once all the evidence has been collected and the investigation has been completed, our lawyers will take over. Our team compiles the evidence to put together a compelling case to support our client’s compensation claim.

An Insurance Company’s Response to an Injury Claim

Insurance companies don’t necessarily enjoy paying off claims. They’re in the business of making money and minimizing payouts. It is for this reason that first settlement offers can be low or denied, especially if injuries have occurred. By doing so, the insurance company does not only pay out a lower amount to the injured person, but they cannot later claim that the amount was inadequate to cover their expenses.

Negotiating with the insurance company on your behalf is one of the ways in which your injury lawyer can assist you in receiving maximum compensation for your injuries. They will also be prepared to take your case to civil court if your insurer is unwilling to negotiate in good faith.
