Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on US-50 Near Jefferson Blvd
At least two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on US-50 near Jefferson Blvd in West Sacramento. The chain-reaction collision occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026, along eastbound Highway 50 just west of Jefferson Boulevard, according to preliminary dispatch information.
Four Vehicles Involved in Chain-Reaction Crash
The collision was reported at approximately 3:43 p.m. Initial dispatch information identified a gray 2008 Kia Sorento, silver Hyundai Sonata, brown sedan, and white work truck among the vehicles involved.
The damaged vehicles initially blocked the No. 3 lane, slowing eastbound traffic while emergency crews responded.
As responders worked to clear the scene, the vehicles were moved to the right shoulder. A tow truck was requested to remove a heavily damaged gold Toyota sedan.
Vehicle Reportedly Catches Fire
Dispatch logs also indicated that one of the vehicles began catching fire, prompting additional emergency assistance.
By approximately 4:02 p.m., all vehicles had been moved to the right shoulder and crews were working to reopen the affected lanes.
At least two people were reported injured in the collision. Their identities and the extent of their injuries were not immediately released.

The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation as authorities continue gathering information.
