Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Highway 65

I’m Ed Smith, a Lincoln Motorcycle Accident Attorney. A 51-year-old Red Bluff man lost his life in a motorcycle accident last month in Roseville on Highway 65.

What Happened?

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was dispatched to Highway 65 around 4:45 pm in the southbound lanes. The accident occurred just south of the overpass for Pleasant Grove Crossing. The motorcycle crashed into the back of a vehicle. According to a release from the CHP, witnesses stated that traffic was coming to a stop approaching the overpass due to heavy volume. In the number-two lane, a 2005 Nissan Altima slowed and came to a stop, but the motorcycle behind it did not. The motorcycle, traveling at 50 MPH, slammed into the left rear side of the Altima.

The impact threw the motorcyclist from the bike and onto the highway. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The CHP said that the driver of the Altima, a 37-year-old man from Lincoln was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with minor injuries. The CHP closed the southbound lanes of Highway 65 for more than 90 minutes to conduct an investigation into the crash, which they said likely did not involve drugs or alcohol.
