Motorcyclist Injured During Redding Highway Accident

Motorcyclist Suffers Injuries in Redding Highway Accident

On Sunday, March 7, 2021, one person suffered injuries during a Redding highway accident. Details reported by Redding area California Highway Patrol (CHP) traffic officers indicated that the crash took place in the morning on a local highway near the downtown area. Additionally, the collision reportedly only involved the motorcycle and no additional vehicles. The motorcyclist was expected to fully recover from his injuries.

Crash Details

The crash happened on the westbound side of Highway 44 when a motorcyclist was navigating a curve that leads into downtown Redding. As the motorcyclist was driving through the tight curve, they reportedly lost control of their motorcycle for reasons that were not reported. As a result, the bike fell onto its side and eventually crashed into a nearby cement guard rail. Further information regarding accident circumstances has not been provided.

After the crash occurred, it was promptly reported to police, who sent a team of response personnel to the scene. At the wreck location, responders found that the motorcyclist was injured and treated his injuries on-site.

Investigation

While investigations into this motorcycle accident continue, CHP officials haven’t indicated whether or not any factors, in particular, are suspected of having played a role in the collision. Furthermore, motorcycle accidents can be complicated and often are caused by things that can’t be controlled by the motorcyclist. These sorts of motorcycle collision factors include defective motorcycle parts, dangerously designed or damaged roads, and more.

If one of these factors is proven to have caused a crash, a third party such as a government entity responsible for roadway maintenance or an auto product manufacturer is often considered negligent and partially or fully responsible for the collision. This means that injured parties can seek compensation from these parties through personal injury claims.

Motorcycle Accident Injuries Can Be More Serious Than They Appear

After a crash, motorcyclists are usually filled with adrenaline, a hormone released by your body during high-stress situations that block pain and enable you to survive in demanding circumstances. Because of this, it can be hard to understand just how badly you’ve been injured after being involved in a crash, and many people walk away from motorcycle accidents feeling just fine only to end up in the hospital shortly after.

Furthermore, a number of common accident injury types are liable to worsen over time and might take as long as a month or more to fully develop symptoms. Without treatment, these injuries can result in secondary trauma or possibly serious complications.

For these reasons, it’s always critical to see a medical professional as soon as possible following a car accident. Not only is this important for your safety, but it can also be a critical part of a personal injury case. If you neglect to seek medical care soon after being injured in a crash, insurance companies and at-fault parties might try to use that as leverage, citing it as evidence that your injuries weren’t actually serious.
