Modesto Traffic Fatality

I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto auto accident attorney. A woman from Oakdale lost her life Thursday morning in a two-car crash in Modesto that also hurt two other people, officers said.

What Happened

An 18-year-old Oakdale man was driving a Dodge Caliber northbound along Claus Road. At about 5:20 a.m. his vehicle drifted into the southbound lanes of travel, as reported by Modesto Police Department.

The man’s Dodge Caliber collided with an oncoming Mitsubishi pickup truck. The pickup truck was being driven by 40-year-old, Rida Franco, of Modesto.

Modesto Woman Passes Away Despite Life-Saving Measures

Rescue crews discovered Franco unresponsive in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. Despite providing her with life-saving measures, she passed away at the scene, police said.

Was Anyone Else Hurt?

The driver of the Dodge Caliber, Christopher Stronick and an 18-year-old occupant in Franco’s pickup truck suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Did Drugs or Alcohol Cause the Crash?

Neither alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, according to authorities.

Investigators are asking for help with tips or information about the collision. Please contact the Modesto Police Department at 209-652-3296.

It is important to have an experienced auto accident attorney assisting with the fact-finding process. An attorney can be very helpful in obtaining evidence that may prove negligence. An attorney can protect the rights of those who have been seriously hurt and/or fatally injured in a crash due to no fault of their own.
