Modesto Fatal Head-On Collision
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident lawyer. The rainy season has taken a toll on motorists throughout the state of California. Recently, a head-on collision took place in east Modesto during the morning hours of Monday, February 20, 2017. Unfortunately, the crash took the lives of the drivers in both of the involved vehicles.
What Happened?
A man from Hickman was traveling eastbound along Milnes Road in his 2008 GMC white pickup truck at about 7:25 am. At the same time, a man from Waterford was traveling westbound along Milnes Road in his 2009 Chevrolet white pickup truck. For unknown reasons, the driver of the GMC truck merged into the westbound lane directly in the path of the Chevrolet truck. This resulted in a head-on collision.
What Caused the Crash?
A cause of the automobile crash has not yet been released by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). It generally takes up to two weeks for a Traffic Collision Report to be processed and released. Sometimes a police report can contain errors as to cause for a crash. Coroner Identifies Collision Victims
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office released the names of the two men that passed away in the head-on collision on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. The man from Hickford traveling in the 2008 GMC Sierra was identified as 48-year-old Edward Brown. The man from Waterford traveling in the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was identified as 52-year-old Todd Mendenhall.
Our condolences are with the family members of the two men that passed away in this tragic accident.
