Modesto Crash Injures Four

I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident attorney. A head-on collision in Modesto caused four people to sustain serious injuries on the evening of Friday, October 28, 2016.

What Happened?

A black SUV was driving eastbound along Sylvan Road and a silver hatchback was driving westbound along Sylvan Road when the two vehicles struck each other in a head-on collision. The SUV continued moving until it came to a complete stop after crashing into a tree on the north side of Sylvan Road. The front-end of the silver hatchback was completely dismantled. The airbags in both vehicles were deployed upon impact.

Watch YouTube Video – By: My Videolicious Video – The scene below clearly shows the extent of property damage sustained to the silver hatchback. The accident location is completely blocked off by police. The debris field is clearly visible all around the outside of the involved car. The video itself is not too disturbing (thankfully, none of the victims can be seen). The aftermath of the crash is shown in the video and not the impact itself.

Two Passengers Pinned Inside the Vehicle, 2 Possibly Ejected

The female motorist in the silver hatchback and her male passenger were found pinned inside the cabin of the vehicle. The two passengers were presumed to be ejected out of the vehicle because they were found outside when emergency personnel arrived at the scene. All of the occupants in both vehicles sustained severe injuries. The good news is that they are all expected to survive.

What Caused the Crash?

It’s too early to know for sure. The accident remains an open investigation. Police believe that driving under the influence may have contributed as a factor in the collision but has not officially indicated for sure. Anyone who has information or witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Modesto Police Department. In the meantime, it typically takes a week or so for investigators to complete a traffic collision report and indicate their findings and cause of the crash. Sometimes police reports can be inconclusive or in error. This can leave the victims with many unanswered questions as to why they suffered serious injury. An experienced car accident attorney can help pinpoint fault so a victim can begin the process of recovering compensation for their medical expenses, time off work and other damages.

Auto Accidents and their Resulting Injuries

Auto accidents can cause traumatic injuries to the driver and the occupants riding as passengers. Rehabilitation after traumatic injuries can last for long chunks of time. Chronic pain after a serious car crash can be altering to one’s life and take months or longer to get under control.

Car accidents may also include other vehicles as well. Oftentimes, cars collide with motorcycles, semi-trucks and even buses. Automobile crashes are sometimes caused due to motorists engaging in poor driving behavior like texting while operating a vehicle, speeding and drunk driving. Injuries that may result from these collisions consist of cervical sprains, broken bones or dashboard knee. If you’ve suffered a traumatic injury in a car crash, contact an experienced personal injury lawyer right away.
