Merced Fatal Head-On Collision
I’m Ed Smith, a Merced car accident lawyer. A head-on collision occurred along Highway 99 just south of Merced during the morning hours of Wednesday, March 7, 2017. Unfortunately, the occupants of both involved vehicles all passed away at the scene.
What Happened?
A motorist of a gold Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound along Highway 99 in the vicinity of Mission Avenue exit at an unknown rate of speed. The driver’s vehicle crossed the center divide and into the northbound lanes of travel. The alleged wrong-way motorist crashed head-on with a black Ford Expedition in the northbound lanes.
What Caused the Head-On Collision?
It is still too soon to determine what caused the head-on collision. It usually takes up to two weeks for a Traffic Collision Report to be processed. Nature of Injuries
The motorist of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as 53-year-old Mark Wilmer and his passenger was identified as 52-year-old Maburn Rodriguez, both from Modesto. The driver of the Ford Explorer was identified as 23-year-old Travis Lindsay from Chowchilla. Tragically, all three occupants in both vehicles suffered fatal injuries.
