Student Injured in Merced Accident
Three teenagers from El Capitan High School were involved in a frightening rollover crash in Merced on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
What Happened?
A 16-year-old girl from Merced was behind the wheel of her 1995 Toyota Camry along with two passengers on West Bellevue Road near Utah Street in Merced. It has been reported that the driver began to feel light-headed. According to the California Highway Patrol, her vehicle then drifted off the roadway, rolled over, and ended up in a field. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, CHP, and Merced County authorities reported to the scene to assist the occupants in the vehicle.
Was Anyone Hurt?
The driver of the vehicle was flown to the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash. Her injuries were not reported as major. Authorities said that the two female passengers in the vehicle, a 16-year-old and an 18-year old, were not hurt as a result of the crash.
