Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Being Forced Off Road by Gunfire in Arden Arcade

A man suffers life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized after a targeted shooting led to a crash early Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, in the Arden Arcade area. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Marconi Avenue and Montclaire Street. Authorities say the driver’s vehicle was struck by a barrage of gunfire before veering off the road and colliding with a tree.

Driver Survives Gunfire but Injured in Crash Impact

Although approximately 30 rounds were fired at the gray Jeep SUV, medical reports indicate that the man’s serious injuries stemmed from the impact of the collision rather than from gunshot wounds. According to Sgt. Amar Gandhi of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was hit by at least two bullets, but they did not break the skin, as confirmed by treating physicians. The number of shots fired is an early estimate based on shell casings recovered at the scene.
