According to reports, one of the injured parties was hospitalized as a result of the collision. The accident involved two vehicles and happened in a residential area on the north side of Redding. Redding Hit-and-Run Details

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Hilltop Drive. A white van was reportedly driving north on Hilltop while a black Ford 150 was approaching the same location while heading south. Suddenly, the pickup truck made a left-hand turn and crashed into the driver’s side of the van head-on. Pictures of the accident scene show extreme damage to the driver’s side of the van. After the accident, the Ford reportedly drove away from the scene and entered the streets of a nearby neighborhood.

Police arriving at the scene discovered both the passenger and driver of the van had suffered lacerations as a result of the accident. The driver was driven to a local hospital by ambulance for medical care and updates on his condition have not been reported.

Search and Arrest

After reaching the scene of the crash, officers called in the CHP Northern Division Air Operations unit to help them locate the missing driver. The driver was eventually found several blocks away from the accident site. Police indicated that he had changed his clothes in an apparent attempt to disguise his appearance.

During an interview with police, the Ford driver reportedly admitted to officers that he had been driving the Ford 150 at the time of the accident. After conducting an evaluation, officers placed the man under arrest for violating the terms of his parole, DUI, and fleeing the scene of an accident. After being arrested, the man was released into hospital custody for medical attention.

Calling an Attorney for Personal Injury

Sustaining an injury in a car accident can be serious. Not only does suffering a major injury have a huge impact on your physical and mental wellbeing, but injuries can cause serious financial problems as well. During recovery, it may be difficult for you to return to work, resulting in lost wages. This can make it difficult to afford the medical care you need to fully recover.

To ensure that you are able to move forward with your life after being hurt in an auto accident, it’s always best to reach out to a Redding personal injury lawyer for advice. By working with an attorney to file an injury claim, crash survivors can often obtain full compensation for a wide range of accident damages.
