Lodi Double Fatality Lyft Crash

Two Killed in Lyft Hit-and-Run Crash

Two innocent people died in a hit-and-run crash in Lodi on Monday, April 25, 2016. Two teenagers allegedly driving a stolen vehicle struck the victims, drivers, and passengers in a Lyft car.

What Happened?

The tragic collision occurred at Lodi Avenue, near Pleasant Avenue. Two teenage boys were witnessed running away from a severe injury accident. One of the boys appeared to have been the 16-year-old driver. Thankfully, he was apprehended shortly after the crash. The other teenage boy remains at large but was caught on video by a witness using her cell phone.

Tragically Killed

A 62-year-old man from Stockton was killed while driving for Lyft. His passenger, also from Stockton, was a 43-year-old man.

What will the Hit and Run Driver Be Charged With?

The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, driving while intoxicated, and two counts of vehicular manslaughter.

What About the Passenger Who Got Away?

Lodi Police have been conducting a large-scale search for the boy last seen running on foot from the accident scene. The suspect remains on the loose. Police indicated that the suspect may be dangerous and armed with a weapon. Call 911 if you spot him.
