An intersection crash involving two vehicles in Kelseyville on November 29 sent one person to the hospital with injuries. One Person Transported to Hospital Following Crash Involving Two Vehicles

Injuries were reported to someone in the Toyota, who was transported to Adventist Health Howard Hospital in Willits. Only one of the vehicles blocked the intersection. However, officers were unable to move the Acura. An accident investigation to determine the cause and fault is underway by CHP traffic crash detectives.

Determining Fault in an Intersection Accident

An intersection crash involving two vehicles is surprisingly common. Around half of all collisions occur there. Most of the time, these collisions are caused by a driver’s negligence. When this occurs, the injured party may claim a personal injury against the negligent driver to recover compensation. An accident attorney can determine if fault is involved and which driver was negligent. Following this, the lawyer can gather the evidence needed to support the injured person’s claim and follow through by negotiating on their behalf with the at-fault party’s insurance company.

Getting Compensation After a Car Accident

Recovering personal injury damages following a crash involving two vehicles can help an injured person avoid financial difficulties, hold the at-fault party responsible and give them peace of mind to concentrate on healing. Recoverable damages include:

  • Medical: Accident-related medical expenses, such as ambulance fees, hospital stays, physician’s bills, tests, and surgeries, are recoverable. Rehabilitation services are also covered. During the settlement process, additional medical costs will be included if the injury remains unresolved.
  • Wages: Accident-injured people can recover their lost wages if they cannot work due to the accident. The term “lost wages” also includes tips, bonuses, lost insurance and pension coverage. Employees are compensated if they cannot perform their jobs and must take a lesser-paying job. An injured party can recover their wages until they reach retirement age if they are totally disabled.
  • Pain and suffering: The pain and suffering compensation covers both physical and emotional trauma generated by accidents, such as anxiety and depression. Injuries that result in collisions are commonly associated with post-traumatic stress disorder. The cost of treatment for this disorder can be recouped if necessary.
