Jonathan Sanchez Car Accident

Stockton Fatal Single Vehicle Crash

I’m Ed Smith, a Stockton personal injury attorney. Two seniors from McNair High School were driving home to Stockton after a birthday celebration during the night of Saturday, March 11, 2017. The driver’s vehicle drifted off the roadway and struck a tree. Sadly, the single vehicle crash caused the driver to suffer traumatic injuries and their passenger to suffer fatal injuries.

What Happened?

Dean Dorman was behind the wheel of his 2014 Chevrolet traveling southbound along Interstate 5 in the vicinity of Hammer Lane. For unknown reasons, Dorman’s vehicle drifted off the southbound lanes and crashed into a tree. The impact of the collision caused the passenger side of the vehicle to detach. The detachment caused the passenger in the vehicle, Jonathan Sanchez, to be ejected out of the vehicle.

Dean Dorman suffered major injuries as a result of the single-vehicle crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. News reports indicated that Dorman was in a coma but is showing signs of improvement after undergoing a successful surgery. Unfortunately, Jonathan Sanchez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities.

What Caused the Crash?

It is still too soon to determine what caused the crash. It usually takes authorities 7 to 10 days to process a Traffic Collision Report. However, an initial investigation conducted by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) did not find that drugs nor alcohol played as factors in the collision.

Loved One Forever Remembered

Jonathan Sanchez was a beloved senior at McNair High School. Sanchez had a loving personality and an infectious smile that brightened the mood everywhere he went. The loved ones of Sanchez have created a GoFundMe account to cover his funeral expenses.

Our condolences are with the family members of the young man that passed away in this accident.
