Sacramento police released new details after innocent bystander killed in a seven-vehicle crash caused by a man fleeing from officers following a domestic violence call on June 1, 2025.

Suspect Identified as Sacramento Man with Felony Warrant

Officers responded to a June 1 domestic violence report on Farm Dale Way. The suspect, a 33-year-old Sacramento man, fled before police arrived. On June 8, the domestic violence victim called for a civil standby to safely gather her belongings. Officers discovered the suspect was a parolee at large with an active felony warrant.

Officers Spot Suspect Nearby; Pursuit Ensues

While at the scene, officers spotted the suspect in a vehicle nearby. After activating emergency lights, the suspect fled, initiating a short pursuit before officers lost sight of him.

Suspect’s Reckless Driving Causes Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash

The suspect drove at high speeds on Florin Road, ultimately crashing into seven vehicles at Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive. An uninvolved adult male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Arrested After Fleeing on Foot; Faces Multiple Charges

The suspect fled on foot after the crash but was arrested by officers with help from a K9. He was hospitalized briefly before being booked into jail on charges including parole violation, domestic violence, and felony evasion.

Major Accident Investigation Underway

CHP’s Major Accident Investigation Team will conduct a thorough investigation. The victim’s identity will be released by the coroner once the family is notified. Witnesses are urged to contact Sacramento Police at (916) 808-5471.
