Injuries Suffered During Truckee Big-Rig Collision

At least one individual suffered injuries during a Truckee big-rig collision that took place on Thursday, January 7, 2021. This accident was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), who stated that it took place at night on Highway Interstate 80 outside of the city of Truckee. The incident reportedly involved a big-rig and SUV. The number of injured individuals has not yet been reported, and accident response was underway at the time of reporting.

Crash Details

The accident occurred at around 8:22 p.m. on the eastbound side of I80 near the Crystal Springs off-ramp near Gold Run. CHP stated that the SUV driver, for reasons that are unknown, lost control of their vehicle and veered into a Swift semi-truck hauling an empty trailer. Following the accident, the truck driver reportedly exited his vehicle in order to try to check on the occupant(s) of the SUV. Further details about the circumstances of the accident have not yet been released at this time.

Response

The collision was promptly called into emergency officials, who dispatched officers and an ambulance to the scene. When response personnel reached the area, they discovered the big rig parked around 800 feet behind the SUV, which was crashed and stopped on the side of the highway. According to reports, at least one person at the accident site had sustained injuries.

Investigation of Truckee Big-Rig Collision

As police continue their investigation into this crash, no causes have been confirmed in reports. Often, trucking accidents are caused by things that aren’t controlled by truckers or drivers of passenger vehicles. These non-motorist auto accident factors include defective or poorly built car parts as well as roadway disrepair and more.

Trucking Accidents and Calling an Attorney

After being injured in a trucking accident, it’s critical to get in touch with an attorney as soon as you possibly can. This is because trucking companies are almost always ready to start building a legal defense directly after accidents happen. Often, the company will even have their own legal accident response team that takes witness statements and gathers evidence at the actual scene of the crash. Having an experienced lawyer on your side right away can help combat this quick and aggressive defensive action.

Finding the Right Attorney

The injuries that people sustain during auto accidents can have a huge impact on their lives, leaving them with expensive medical bills and possibly affecting their ability to earn an income. Because these damages are so important, you should know your attorney has the skill, knowledge, and resources to effectively handle your truck accident claim.
