Compensation Recovery in an Accident Caused by Negligence

Personal injury claims can be filed by those injured in other vehicle accidents where another driver was at fault. You can get assistance from an injury lawyer in determining which motorist(s) was/were negligent, and your attorney will work hard to hold the responsible party/parties accountable.

Getting in Touch With an Injury Lawyer

Getting advice from an experienced personal injury lawyer is the best way to determine what compensation you may be entitled to if you’ve been injured in a bridge accident. If you are injured or lost a loved one, an injury attorney can review your case for free, assist you with your compensation recovery, and offer advice on the best course of action to take. Having their case in good hands allows the injured person to focus on recovering from their trauma. Unless you win your case, you owe nothing.

Personal Injury Claim Compensation

You may be able to recover the following compensation:

  • Medical expenses: Someone whom a negligent driver or other entity has injured has the right to recover all the medical costs caused by the accident. This ranges from balance fees, hospitalization, surgeries, doctors’ bills t, and the cost of their rehabilitation. Out-of-pocket expenses are recoverable also, such as the cost of gasoline and parking to go to a physician for outpatient care.
  • Wages: Often, those who suffer injuries in an accident must be out of work until they recover enough to return to their job. The wages, tips, bonuses, and pension/insurance benefits are recoverable. If the individual cannot return to their job because of their injury and has to take one that pays less, the salary difference is recoverable. If permanent disability occurs, the injured party can recover their salary until retirement.
  • Pain and suffering: Compensation is available for physical pain and suffering, disfigurement, and scarring. In addition, the injured party may be suffering emotional trauma from the bridge accident, such as depression, anxiety, nightmares, and others. If professional help is sought to cope with emotional anxiety, the cost is recoverable.
