Injuries Occur in Sacramento Highway Accident at 12th Avenue Off-Ramp

A Sacramento highway accident involving three vehicles occurred along the Golden State Highway on July 8 that resulted in injuries. The accident happened around 1:54 p.m. along State Route 99 at the 12th Avenue off-ramp. The accident, involving a Chrysler PT Cruiser, Acura TL, and a Honda Civic, ended up causing two of the vehicles to exit the roadway up an embankment.

Highway Accident Cause Being Determined

The Honda Civic partially blocked the slow lane, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Injuries were reported in the crash, however, information was not provided on whether the injured party was taken to a hospital or received treatment at the scene. Investigators with the CHP traffic collision unit are determining which driver/drivers were at-fault for the crash and how it occurred.

Making a Claim for Personal Injury

In a Sacramento highway accident, the responding police will file an injury report in the event of a freeway accident. Injury lawyers can conduct investigations to determine fault and collect evidence that proves responsibility in a freeway accident. This often includes:

  • Accident reconstruction can detail the vehicles’ positions before, during, and after the Sacramento highway accident, showing fault.
  • Reviewing the police report to ensure it is accurate is an important step because mistakes could interfere with a client’s ability to place a claim.
  • Checking for traffic and business surveillance cameras may uncover one that videotaped the Sacramento highway accident as it occurred.
  • Interviewing witnesses provides corroborating information on how the collision occurred.

The collection of evidence is crucial in an injury accident. Compensation for their injury claim would not be recoverable otherwise.

Recovering Compensation for Financial Losses

A lawyer can help the injured party to negotiate a fair personal injury settlement with the insurance company or other parties responsible. Using a lawyer, you can protect yourself from paying medical bills that are not covered by health insurance, as well as expenses related to lost wages and pain and suffering that have not been adequately compensated.

When an insurance company is unwilling to make a fair settlement offer or a dispute over fault arises, a lawsuit may be necessary. In this situation, an injury lawyer could be a great asset in preparing and presenting the case to the court.

Consulting a Lawyer to Protect Your Rights

Injury lawyers can assist you in receiving full and fair compensation if you are injured or lose a family member when a freeway accident occurs. It is essential to consult a lawyer following a freeway accident if you want to protect your rights. A personal injury attorney can help you pursue compensation for injuries or losses sustained because of another’s negligence.
