A hit-and-run rollover crash on State Route 99 in Chico was believed to have been caused by a hit-and-run driver on Monday morning, July 27, 2026, along southbound State Route 99 south of State Route 32 in Chico, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Vehicle Overturns After Allegedly Being Forced Off the Road

The crash occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. CHP’s Chico office alerted motorists around 9:30 a.m., urging drivers to avoid the area while emergency crews responded.

According to CHP Traffic Incident Information logs, the incident was investigated as a hit-and-run collision involving minor injuries. Investigators reported that another vehicle allegedly forced a silver sedan off the roadway without making contact, causing it to overturn onto its side.

The other driver reportedly fled the scene before authorities arrived.
