Highway 29 Collision Causes Deadly Injuries

According to information released by California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Highway 29 collision left at least one person with fatal injuries on Friday, September 4, 2020. The accident reportedly happened in the morning in the area of Hidden Valley. The number of people killed as a result of this crash has not yet been reported and authorities have not reported the identity of any involved individuals. The crash is under an active CHP investigation at this time.

Crash Details

The crash occurred at around 7:35 a.m. on Highway 29, north of the small community of Middletown outside of Ukiah. The crash reportedly occurred in the southbound lane of the highway. While police did not indicate how many vehicles were involved, they did state that the crash blocked the highway for around three hours while response and preliminary investigations of the scene were underway.

Responders were dispatched to the site of the collision directly after CHP was notified of the accident. Upon arrival at the accident site, responders determined that at least one of the involved parties had suffered critical trauma.

Investigating Fatal Accidents

Accidents can be complicated and, in many cases, involve more than one factor. Determining what exactly caused an accident can be a difficult task, especially if police aren’t able to ask involved parties about what took place. Sadly, this can mean that investigating officers won’t notice important evidence that would otherwise be a critical part of a wrongful death case.

To make sure that all of the responsible parties to an accident are held financially responsible, you should make sure to have an experienced attorney conduct a private crash investigation. Your lawyer should be able to use their experience, skill, and resources to uncover any key accident evidence.

Other Recent Fatal Ukiah Area Accidents

This crash is the third fatal vehicle accident to occur in the Ukiah area during the last month. The most recent collision occurred on Monday, August 31, 2020, and left a 19-year-old boy from Ukiah with fatal trauma. The crash involved only one vehicle and happened just before sunrise on Highway 20 outside of Calpella.

Another deadly crash happened on Saturday, August 22, 2020, and killed a 26-year-old man from the town of Redwood Valley. In addition to the decedent, one other person suffered trauma during the incident. According to CHP, this crash happened at approximately 8:21 a.m. on Highway 101 within Ukiah city limits. The accident only involved one vehicle but caused a small fire that spread to nearby vegetation before being doused by responding fire authorities.

Calling a Lawyer

Fatal accidents cause a great deal of emotional pain for families. However, negligent parties typically aren’t experiencing grief and will act quickly in order to defend themselves from any kind of financial liability. To ensure that you and your family receive fair compensation, it’s crucial to call an attorney as soon as possible.
