Speeding Continues to Be a Major Factor in Fatal Crashes
Excessive speed can significantly reduce a driver’s ability to maintain control of a vehicle, especially when traveling on roadways with changing conditions or limited recovery areas. High-speed crashes often result in catastrophic or fatal injuries because of the tremendous force generated during impact.
Drivers are encouraged to obey posted speed limits, remain attentive, and adjust their speed to match roadway and traffic conditions.
