Elk Grove Fatal Crash
Three vehicles were involved in a terrible crash on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Sadly, one of the motorists did not survive his injuries.
What Happened?
The accident took place at approximately 2:15 pm at the block of 9900 Grant Line Road in Elk Grove. A flatbed truck was driving along Grant Line Road when a black sedan pulled out in front of the truck. When the sedan pulled out, it caused the flatbed of the truck to broadside the sedan. The impact from the collision caused both of the vehicles to be pushed into the opposite lane. This caused a white truck driving on the opposite side of the roadway to be struck by both vehicles. Grant Line Road in the vicinity of Bradshaw Road and Mosher Road was closed down for several hours according to authorities from the Elk Grove Police Department. Officers from the California Highway Patrol took over the investigation and will be determining a cause for the accident.
One Fatality, Other Motorists and Passengers Reportedly Okay
A 24-year-old man from Elk Grove was behind the wheel of the black sedan. Sadly, he passed away at the scene due to his extensive injuries. A passenger and another motorist escaped with minimal injuries.

Who is at Fault for the Accident?
It’s too soon to know for sure. CHP has not yet released information pertaining to the identity of an at fault driver. It typically takes a week or more for an investigating agency to prepare a traffic collision report. When a fatality is involved it can take even longer.
