Garberville Area Crash Causes Major Injuries

Garberville Area Crash Causes Serious Trauma

On Wednesday, November 4, 2020, one person suffered major trauma during a Garberville area crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident happened on a rural roadway and only involved one vehicle. Medical officials have not yet reported whether or not the individual’s injuries were life-threatening. However, CHP did call a helicopter ambulance to the crash site. An investigation into the collision is ongoing.

Crash Information

CHP first reported the accident at around 6:59 p.m., indicating that a single-vehicle had been involved in a collision near 2722 Island Mountain Road a few miles east of Garberville. Information regarding the events that preceded the crash has not been released. CHP reports indicate that the driver apparently lost control of his vehicle and that the car overturned as a result.

According to police, the driver was ejected from the car during the rollover. Additionally, reports indicated that the vehicle passed over the driver as it was rolling, leaving the individual seriously injured.

Response

Responders arrived at the accident scene shortly after it occurred and discovered that the driver had sustained major leg and head trauma. Police immediately called for a helicopter ambulance, and the most recent reports showed that the ambulance was en-route to the collision location.

Investigation

CHP has indicated that they will be conducting a full investigation into this crash, but have not yet mentioned any likely causes. Even single-vehicle collisions can be caused by more than one thing, and, in many cases, crash factors are not under motorist control. Such non-driver accident causes include defective safety features or car parts, dangerous roads, and more.

Rollover Collisions

Car accidents in which the vehicle overturns have a very high chance of causing major or fatal injuries compared to most other types of collisions. A major reason for this disparity is that vehicle roofs are frequently not strong enough to keep people safe. If the roof of a car isn’t designed properly or isn’t made of strong material, it may cave in, causing “roof crush injuries.” These types of injuries tend to be severe and are very dangerous.

In cases that involve a roof crush injury, it is often the case that the vehicle manufacturer can be held responsible for medical bills and other damages caused by the crash. However, your attorney needs to be able to prove that the roof of the vehicle was unsafe. For this reason, it’s very important to preserve the wrecked vehicle as evidence for your case.
