Authorities Investigating Accident to Determine Cause

One of the occupants was deceased as a result of the highway crash near Modesto. An ambulance transported the other vehicle occupant to a hospital with undetermined injuries. Authorities are investigating to find out what caused the accident. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the person who died once the family has received notification.

The Dangers of Rollovers

A rollover in a highway crash near Modesto presents many hazards and complexities. A rollover is more likely to cause catastrophic injuries, especially if the occupants did not use seat restraints and ejection from the vehicle occurs. The following factors can cause a rollover:

  • Swerving or braking suddenly to avoid hitting another vehicle.
  • Distracted or impaired driving, speeding, or other forms of negligence can result in losing control.
  • In case a vehicle tips over during a sharp turn due to overloading.
  • Poorly maintained roadways can cause rollover accidents. The government entity charged with their maintenance may be liable in these cases. The deadline to file a government claim in California is two years, so getting help is advisable.
  • An auto defect can lead to a rollover, where the injured party or family of the deceased may file a product liability claim.

Injury Lawyers Can Determine Why a Rollover Accident Occurred

Drivers or other entities responsible for causing accidents are accountable when passengers die or are injured because of their actions. An experienced lawyer can help you assess your legal options and protect your rights if you or a loved one has suffered trauma or died in a car accident. Furthermore, lawyers work hard to recover the compensation you deserve.

Roof Collapse Can Cause Serious Injuries

A rollover accident poses additional dangers due to roof crush. Rollover-resistant roofs and supports are legal requirements for auto manufacturers. Unfortunately, some do not. Retaining the vehicle after a rollover crash is essential to examine the roof. If this happens, a lawsuit for auto product liability may be possible.
