Fatal Rollover Accident Near Tracy

I’m Ed Smith, a Tracy car accident lawyer. A rollover accident occurred east of Tracy on the evening of Sunday, September 24, 2017. The collision, unfortunately, caused one person to suffer fatal injuries.

We would like to extend our sympathies to the family of the individual who passed away in this tragic car accident.

What Happened?

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was reported to a call of a single vehicle accident around 6:37 pm. When authorities arrived, they discovered a black sedan approximately 80 feet away from the roadway. The vehicle was found on its roof after it appeared to have overturned due to an unknown cause.

Was Anybody Injured?

Emergency personnel responded to the scene of the accident. Upon arrival, they located an injured party of the black sedan. The party was, unfortunately, proclaimed deceased at the scene. The identity of the person has not yet been released.

What Caused the Accident?

The cause of the accident is not yet known.  An investigation is ongoing. A Traffic Collision Report is usually processed within two weeks from the date of an accident. Reports regarding traffic accidents can be inconclusive or inaccurate relating to fault. It is crucial, especially when a party has passed away in an accident, to contact an experienced Tracy car accident lawyer. An attorney with years of experience can investigate the collision scene and examine the sequence of events leading up to the crash to properly determine liability.

Accidents Involving Phantom Vehicles

A phantom vehicle is one that causes damage, injury or death without making physical contact and leaves the scene of an automobile accident. Sometimes, single vehicle accidents can be caused by these unidentified vehicles. A claim may be filed under a policy holder’s Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage in the event of a phantom vehicle accident. Pursuing claims under this coverage can be restricted by insurance companies. For example, some policies require that an accident involving a phantom vehicle to be reported within 24 hours of the incident. However, other policies attempt to require that some physical contact occurred between the vehicles. These claims can be intricate, that is why it is vital to consult with an experienced Tracy car accident lawyer to protect your rights after a car accident.
