Fatal Head-On Collision on Bentley Road
Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a fatal head-on collision on Bentley Road and Kemper Road just east of the Modesto area on the afternoon of Sunday, November 28, 2021. The motor vehicle collision occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. just northwest of the intersection at Albers Road and Milnes Road.

CHP traffic officers indicated in a preliminary report that the incident involved a Chevrolet Silverado and a Toyota sedan. The Toyota was reportedly traveling southbound on Bentley Road while the Chevrolet was headed northbound. One of the vehicles allegedly turned left into the path of the other resulting in a head-on collision.
Authorities said that the driver and passengers of the Chevrolet sustained injuries described as minor. They did not require emergency transportation from the scene for medical care, officials reported. The Toyota driver was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of serious injuries. Sadly, the passenger of the Toyota was declared deceased at the scene of the car accident in Modesto. The decedent has been identified as 85-year-old Frederick Girard of Modesto.
The CHP indicated in a recent report that the other driver, a 33-year-old Oakdale man, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and misdemeanor DUI. It was unclear whether he will be facing additional charges in connection to the fatal crash.
