Fatal Elk Grove Crash
I’m Ed Smith, an Elk Grove Auto Accident Attorney. A woman driving a Toyota Prius passed away after a traffic collision in Elk Grove involving a landscaping truck. The crash happened along Promenade and Lent Ranch Parkways.
What Happened?
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, an auto accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Officers said a landscaping truck that was pulling a trailer was travelling northbound on Promenade Parkway. Then a Toyota Prius travelling southbound attempted to make a left hand turn onto Lent Ranch Parkway, in front of the landscaping truck and trailer. Unfortunately the two vehicles collided with one another.
Female Motorist Died at Scene
Sadly, the female driver who was the only occupant inside of the Toyota Prius, was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The coroner’s office has not yet released her name pending notification of her family.
Landscaping Truck Driver Uninjured
Authorities said the driver of the landscaping truck was the only occupant in his vehicle. He was not injured in the accident.
Investigation Underway
Investigators said the intersection where the accident happened had functioning traffic signals. The circumstances of the tragic collision are under investigation.
Investigators closed Promenade Parkway from north of Lent Ranch Parkway down to Kammerer Road. Traffic was diverted and motorists were requested to avoid the accident area all together.
