Fatal Crash on State Route 193 Near Longview Lane in El Dorado County

A fatal crash on State Route 193 near Longview Lane early Friday morning, November 28, 2025, claimed a driver’s life after his pickup truck veered off the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP reported that the older-model pickup, which was towing a small utility trailer, drifted off the right side of the road and collided with trees. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Investigators have not released the identity of the deceased and are continuing to examine the cause of the incident. The crash site is approximately 20 miles north of Placerville.
