Fatal Carmichael Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Carmichael auto accident attorney. A two-vehicle collision occurred on the night of Thursday, October 13, 2016. Unfortunately, the severe accident left one injured and two dead.
What Happened?
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Lexus was traveling northbound on Garfield Avenue. A red Honda was driving southbound on Garfield Avenue and was in the left turn lane. The driver of the red Honda made the left turn and felt the impact of the Lexus broadsiding their vehicle. The force of impact pushed the Honda across the street, through a home’s front yard and came to a complete stop against the house on Kiva Drive.
What Types of Injuries?
The types of injuries are not known at this time. However, the 58-year-old male passenger of the red Honda passed away at the scene due to the grave nature of his injuries. The 58-year-old female driver of the red Honda was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The 20-year-old male driver of the Lexus was also taken to the hospital but reports have not clarified the extent of his injuries as of late Thursday night. It was also reported that one other person was injured in the accident, however, it is unclear which vehicle that person was riding in.
The Family’s Home
The red Honda collided into the wall of a family’s home. The wall happened to be the room of the family’s daughter. Thankfully, the family was not home at the time of the accident. The mother of the family believes that if they were at home at the time of the crash, her daughter would have been injured. The impact of the crash damaged the floor and wall of the daughter’s room and also pushed the furniture further into the bedroom.
