Deadly Anderson Pedestrian Crash

One person passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020, after suffering injuries in an Anderson pedestrian crash. Shasta County Sheriff’s Department authorities have identified the decedent as 45-year-old Teesha Lorae McCarley of Corning. The Anderson Police Department (APD) reported that the accident involved a single vehicle and a pedestrian and took place in the early morning on a highway located within the city.

Crash Information

The collision occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Highway 237 on Alexander Avenue. Details about the events leading up to the accident have not yet been released. However, APD indicated that the collision occurred on the northbound side of the highway and involved a white SUV.

After the accident occurred, police were contacted and sent responders to the accident site. Medical officials reaching the scene discovered that Ms. McCarley had suffered critical trauma. Tragically, she was declared deceased on-site. Reports indicated that the SUV driver was not injured during the incident.

Investigation

Local authorities are actively investigating what factors could have been involved in this tragic accident. Police have indicated that they do not believe intoxication to have played a role. Pedestrian collisions are very common and can be caused by various factors. Some of these factors are things drivers cannot control, including dangerous roadway design, defective pavement, faulty car parts, and more.

In cases like this one, where the pedestrian can’t tell investigating officers their version of events, it can be difficult for investigators to get a complete picture of what took place. Because they are missing part of the story, investigators often simply don’t notice important evidence that otherwise would have been discovered. To ensure the crash is investigated to the fullest extent possible, it’s best to contact an Anderson personal injury lawyer with experience privately investigating wrongful death collisions. A good attorney will devote their skill, experience, and resources to finding out if any negligence was involved.

Wrongful Death Damages

The loss that families experience after a fatal crash is terrible. In many cases, family members and friends of the decedent experience very deep grief that can leave them feeling totally overwhelmed. During this time, thinking clearly or doing simple tasks is often difficult. While grief can be extremely difficult, many people can process their feelings with help from their community and loved ones.

However, fatal collisions also often cause major financial problems for family members of decedents. A sudden death in your household can mean losing the income you need to pay your bills. In other cases, families lose access to services they rely on, like home maintenance or childcare, which can be impossible to replace. To ensure that your family has financial stability after a deadly accident, it’s critical to contact a local wrongful death lawyer for help.
