An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Accident Details

The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Panorama Drive and Twin Peaks. According to the San Francisco Public Works Department, Pelayo had been working with a San Francisco-based contractor in order to repair pavement and sewer lines. The company reports that they were hired to install a large water main in order to reinforce existing structures in the area.

Wrongful Death Damages

For families, fatal accidents can be devastating. After hearing the news that your loved one has suddenly passed away, it’s common to go through a very intense period of grieving. During this time, many people feel totally overwhelmed and shocked, and it can be difficult to keep up with your normal daily life. It’s important to treat yourself with care after experiencing traumatic loss and to seek support from the people in your family, friend group, and community.

However, many people who’ve lost somebody in their family also face dire financial problems. In many cases, families are left with medical expenses incurred before their loved one passed away. Furthermore, losing a member of your household often also means losing access to household services or an income source that you and your family rely on to pay bills. These concerns can make it almost impossible for people to focus on healing emotionally.

Getting Help

Facing these issues is awful. However, many people are able to get help by working with a Fairfield wrongful death lawyer to file a claim against at-fault parties. By filing a wrongful death claim and holding negligent parties responsible, families can recover payments for the financial losses they have suffered. Additionally, wrongful death claims also often include payments for personal damages such as loss of companionship, parental guidance, and more.
