The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is pleased to announce the following:

Elk Grove Driver Safety Classes

Date: August 25 & 26 (2-day class)

Time: 12:30 to 4:30 pm

Location: Elk Grove Senior Center – 8830 Sharkey Ave, Elk Grove, CA 95624 (916) 685-3160

This class will teach you how to become a safer driver by improving upon your current driving skills.

The instructor will be discussing:

Current California driving laws
Effects of medications and driving
Minimizing the effects of dangerous blind spots
Most common causes of auto accidents
Dangers of distracted driving (texting, cell phone use, eating, smoking)
Maintaining proper following distance behind another car
Defensive driving techniques to prevent auto accidents
Safest way to change lanes and make turns in a busy intersection
How to properly use safety belts, anti-lock brakes, air-bags and new technology in cars today
How to rate your own driving ability and the abilities of those you love

Why Take a Driver Safety Class?

One good reason – save money on your insurance premium. By completing the course, you’ll get a certificate of completion. Give it to your insurance agent for a possible reduction in your auto insurance premiums.
It just makes good sense to do everything in your power to make the driving experience a safer one.

Do I have to be Senior Citizen to take the Driver Safety Classes?

No.

What is the cost?

$15 for AARP members
$20 for non-AARP members
