Officers Nab Drug Pushers Near School Campus

Elk Grove Police have arrested two Elk Grove men for dealing drugs near Joseph Kerr Middle School. This incident happened on Friday, September 11, 2015. Officers say Gabriel Espinoza, 30, and Anthony Defazio, 22, were allegedly performing a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the 9600 block of Elk Grove-Florin Rd. Both men have been booked into the county jail. They were both on probation at the time of their arrest.

Robbed at Gunpoint

An 18-year-old became the unexpected victim of a robbery at gunpoint on Saturday, September 12, 2015. The young man was standing just outside his home on Tittle Way. He told Elk Grove Police that he was confronted by an unknown individual who was riding as a passenger in a vehicle. The suspect engaged in conversation with the victim. After the victim walked away, the suspect got out of the car and demanded the cell phone belonging to the victim.

The suspect brandished a gun after the victim refused to give up his phone. Seeing the gun, the victim threw the phone at the suspect and ran. Victim was uninjured in the altercation. The suspect made off with the phone in a 4-door silver sedan.

Suspect was described as a black male adult. He is said to be around 18 to 20 years old. He weighs approximately 145 lbs. Suspect was wearing black pants and an orange hoodie.

Financial Victimization

An Elk Grove couple is in jail for financially victimizing and elderly man that was in their care. The 68-year-old male victim was residing with Karen Beshears, 36, and Ronald Beshears, 47. The home they were all sharing was on Madrid Way in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, the victim gave Karen Beshears authorization to pay his bills out of his checking account. He later found out that she had been writing checks to Ronald Beshears without his consent. The Beshear’s bail was set for $50,000 each. They both have two felony charges a piece.
