Elk Grove Commute Time Accident
Just as folks were headed out to enjoy the Labor Day weekend, an auto accident occurred leaving three people injured. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash along Highway 99 in Elk Grove. The crash occurred on the afternoon of Friday, September 4, 2015.
Elk Grove Police Department has reported that a motorist driving a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on West Stockton Boulevard. Suddenly and without warning the driver of the Honda swerved off the roadway. The vehicle then crashed through a fence and hit a sport utility vehicle head-on. The sport utility vehicle was then rear-ended by another motorist.
The head-on collision happened in the southbound direction of travel right near Elk Grove Boulevard.
Cosumnes Fire Department reported that there were two people seriously injured. One of those injured was the driver of the Honda Civic.
This accident caused a major slowdown on each side Highway 99. It could not have happened at a worse time. It was right in the middle of Friday afternoon commute hour at the beginning of a long holiday weekend.
The California Highway Patrol has reported that the Honda Civic was driven off a frontage road along West Stockton Boulevard and entered the freeway.
Now that is a scary thought. I am glad no one was killed.
