Elderly Woman Seriously Injured in Brentwood Accident
A rollover accident in Brentwood left an elderly woman in critical condition on the evening of Sunday, November 3. Details of how the crash occurred have not yet been publicly disclosed. At 8:06 p.m., East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials received a call regarding a rollover accident on Smith Road and Lone Tree Way in Brentwood, CA.
Accident Details
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, along with the Brentwood Police Department and AMR responders. A single car was on its side at the wreck’s site after reportedly striking a pole. Trapped inside the vehicle was an unidentified 80-year-old woman with trouble breathing. After working to stabilize the car, firefighters had to use “The Jaws of Life” extraction equipment to cut out the vehicle’s roof. Once the roof had been cut out, firefighters safely removed the woman from the car. She was transferred to a nearby medical helicopter and taken to a local hospital.
The collision shut down traffic temporarily on Lone Tree Way from both directions while crews continued their investigation. The crash’s origin is still being investigated by the Brentwood police department.
