Stockton Holiday Event Calendar – December 2019

Stockton is a strong community for fun, new, and diverse experiences, and the city certainly doesn’t hold back on the holiday season. The holiday spirit is in the air, and the city festivities should be in your calendar! Fill up your free time this season with any (or all) of the upcoming activities listed below. I have found some local events that anyone can enjoy alone, with family, friends, or a significant other. All you have to do is look at the December 2019 Stockton community event calendar and decide which one you will be attending.

Ronald Dahl’s “Matilda” The Musical

Date: Friday, December 13 & Saturday, December 14, 2019

“Matilda” the Musical, based on the hit children’s novel by Ronald Dahl, is the story of a developmentally advanced young girl as she overcomes the many hurdles of a dysfunctional family and her wicked headmistress. Equipped with a wild imagination and the power of telekinesis, Matilda makes a bold and inspirational pursuit of changing her fate with help from a caring teacher. This magical musical will thrill kids and adults alike with its high energy dance performances and catchy songs.

Pops 2: Holiday Symphony

Date: Sunday, December 15, 2019

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Admission: $12.75 – $62.75 tickets

The Stockton Symphony, which remains the third oldest performing orchestra in the state of California, is continuing its 2019-2020 season with some holiday extravagance. Come to the Warren Atherton Auditorium for a festive mix of Americana with the Symphony’s popular holiday POPS program. The internationally famed Mark O’Connor Band will provide us with classic and contemporary tunes, lifted by the gracious voices of Stockton Chorale. Combined with the well-liked sing-along, as well as the visits from Mr. & Mrs. Claus, this concert is not one to miss!

A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live On Stage

Date: Saturday, December 28, 2019

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: 242 E. Main St, Stockton, California 95202

Admission: $27.50 – $60 tickets

The public’s favorite Peanuts TV special is being brought back to life at the Bob Hope Theatre. This live show of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” celebrates the timeless and classic television show as the entire family can participate with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and others in their quest to figure out the real meaning of Christmas. Get ready for a live performance that will warm audiences’ hearts in the same fashion as when it aired on TV more than 50 years ago.
