A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 50 Near Highway 99 in Sacramento causes morning traffic delays. During the Friday morning commute around 8:27 a.m., August 29, 2025, near the interchange with Highway 99, a three-vehicle collision occurred on eastbound U.S. Highway 50 disrupted traffic.
The crash involved a black-colored Audi sedan, a white-colored utility truck, and a black-colored Chevrolet Sonic. CHP logs indicate that the Audi spun out following the impact, coming to rest across multiple lanes—including exit lanes and the No. 4 lane.
Traffic Impact and Emergency Response
The collision initially prompted an emergency medical response. While officials later classified it as a minor-injury crash, the number of individuals hurt and the extent of injuries have not yet been disclosed. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the damaged vehicles, including the Audi, which sustained major front-end damage.
The crash caused heavy delays in the busy midtown Sacramento corridor near 15th and 16th streets. Between three and six lanes were blocked until officials confirmed that clearing operations were underway at 8:42 a.m. All lanes were reopened shortly thereafter.
