Four-Vehicle Crash Disrupts Traffic on Interstate 80 Near Weimar Cross Road

A four-vehicle crash disrupts traffic on Interstate 80 near Weimar Cross Road on Saturday morning, July 25, 2026, along eastbound I-80 in Placer County, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch records.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks Eastbound Lanes

The collision was reported at approximately 10:40 a.m. Initial dispatch information identified a green Toyota Prius and a white sedan among the vehicles involved. A white Mercedes was later reported to have left the roadway and struck the mountainside along the right shoulder of the freeway.

One vehicle came to rest in the No. 1 lane, while another white sedan remained disabled in the middle lanes. Dispatch updates also indicated that wheels had separated from one of the vehicles during the collision.

Emergency Crews Respond

Three occupants were reportedly able to exit one of the damaged vehicles before emergency personnel arrived.

The collision temporarily brought all eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 to a stop. As the response continued, some lanes remained blocked while traffic was directed through the shoulder. Fire crews and towing services responded to assist with the incident and remove the damaged vehicles.

Investigation Ongoing

Dispatch records noted that one vehicle had reportedly been driving recklessly before the collision. However, authorities have not confirmed that information, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The identities of those involved and whether anyone sustained injuries have not been released.
