One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at South Watt Ave to US-50 On-Ramp in Sacramento

A two-car crash at South Watt Ave to US-50 on-ramp in the College-Glen area of Sacramento left one person injured on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2025. The crash occurred just before 9:00 p.m. at the South Watt Avenue eastbound on-ramp to U.S. Highway 50. Emergency crews responded quickly after witnesses reported a crash that left one vehicle blocking a turning lane and another with passenger-side damage.

Bystanders called for help immediately, and emergency medical personnel arrived to provide on-site assistance. The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries remains undisclosed, and no additional injuries were reported. Sacramento Police directed traffic while firefighters assisted with cleanup, including fluid containment and debris removal.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, reviewing factors such as road conditions, lighting, and potential driver error. No citations or arrests have been issued as of this update.

Staying Safe at Freeway On-Ramps and Busy Intersections

Crashes at freeway on-ramps, like the one at S Watt Avenue and US-50, are especially dangerous due to high-speed merging and sudden lane changes. Drivers can reduce risk by checking blind spots, yielding properly, and maintaining safe distances in transitional zones. Evening driving also increases the likelihood of visibility-related incidents, so proper headlight use and attentive driving are essential. Being alert and cautious at intersections and on-ramps can help prevent serious collisions and keep Sacramento’s roadways safer for everyone.
