Corning Man Hurt in Car Accident

A 44-year-old Corning man suffered injuries during a car accident that occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Information from Tehama area California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicates that this crash happened in Rancho Tehama in the very early morning and only involved one vehicle. No other individuals besides the drivers were in the vehicle at the time of the collision and the injured man was reportedly hospitalized at the Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.

Crash Details

CHP said that the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Skyline Way near the intersection of Stagecoach Road. The Corning man was driving a 2016 Hyundai Tucson southbound on Skyline when he approached a left-hand curve in the road. While navigating the curve, the man reportedly lost control of the Hyundai and slid off the road, striking a nearby fence and tree.

Response

Emergency responders dispatched to the crash scene by CHP discovered the driver inside of his vehicle at the accident scene. Medical officials stated that the driver suffered a laceration to his forehead, indicating a possible serious head injury. According to reports from Enloe, the injured man has since been released from hospital custody.

Investigation

CHP has reported that they are still conducting an investigation into what caused this accident. No suspected car accident factors have been mentioned by officials so far. In crashes involving only one vehicle, there can be multiple causal factors. Furthermore, many common single-vehicle crash factors are things that drivers don’t have any control over, like malfunctioning car parts or inadequate roadway signage.

Traumatic Brain Injuries

Suffering an impact to the head or even having your head jerked around forcibly can result in a traumatic brain injury. These injuries range in severity but can have a serious effect on your life even if they are relatively minor. Furthermore, it can often be difficult to detect brain injuries directly after a crash. It can take weeks or even months for the symptoms of a brain injury to fully develop and, if left untreated, these injuries can lead to serious complications or secondary trauma.

The Impact of an Accident Injury

Car accidents can leave people feeling shocked and unstable. Dealing with the effects of their injuries can be even harder, especially if their trauma has made it difficult to handle the demands of their daily lives. In some cases, injury symptoms make it hard or impossible for people to do household chores or get exercise. For many, being injured means needing to take a significant amount of time off work, potentially causing serious income loss.

In order to make sure that you receive the compensation you deserve for lost income as well as things like medical expenses and damaged property, it’s important to reach out to a Corning personal injury lawyer who can help you file a claim against at-fault parties.
