Community Events in Suisun

Suisun is a historic city on the outskirts of the Bay Area. Residents enjoy an easy commute to large metropolitan areas and a fun, vibrant city with lots of excitement. Here are a few community events scheduled for the coming month in Suisun.

Coast and Creek Cleanup

The Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District is organizing a local Coast and Creek Cleanup event focusing on 15 different locations in Solano County. The locations will include local natural beauty spots such as the McCoy Creek Trail, the Peytonia Slough, Rush Ranch, and others. The activity will be a time for various individuals and organizations to come together and enjoy public nature areas while doing their part to keep them pristine.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2017, begins at 9 a.m. and continues until noon. Supplies will be provided, but volunteers must bring gloves, water bottles, and close-toed shoes.

Last year alone, the event removed over 4,500 pounds of trash and recyclables.

Wine Tasting on the Square

For the sixth year, Suisun’s favorite weekly wine-tasting event runs until October. The tasting event occurs on the Suisun City Square at 700 Main Street. It features wine from local and regional wineries from the Napa, Sonoma, and Suisun Valleys, live music, and complimentary appetizers.

Visitors can get complimentary excellent wine while participating in a lively atmosphere and converse by the city’s large outdoor fireplace. The event begins at 5:sizeablem. It costs 20 dollars for admission. The ticket price includes a 5-dollar gift card to a local eatery, Cast Iron Grill.

Suisun City Ghost Walk

Solano County Paranormal, founded in Fairfield in 2013, is dedicated to using technology, logic, and compassion to separate fiction from fact while hunting for the paranormal. The group will host a ghost walk on Friday, September 15, 2017.

The walk will take attendees through the oldest parts of the city, where they will learn about the haunted history of various sites. As ghosts are sensitive, guests under 10 years of age are not allowed, and those under 18 must have an accompanying adult.

The walk begins at 8 p.m. and costs 20 dollars per ticket. Learn more about the ghost walk here.

Staying Safe

No matter what events you attend, getting there will probably present the risk of a car accident. With a daily average of over 117 car-accident-related deaths in the United States alone, those using the roadways should always be cautious and employ best safety practices.

Ways to stay safe include simple things such as wearing bright clothing while walking, getting enough sleep before you drive long distances, and keeping your attention on the road.
