Citrus Heights Crash Kills Motorcyclist

Citrus Heights Police Department reports that a motorcyclist was killed on the evening of Friday, October 16, 2015.

The accident happened on Sylvan Road in the city of Citrus Heights.

Citrus Heights Police said a preliminary investigation indicates an individual driving an SUV was headed northbound on Sylvan Road.  The SUV was waiting to turn left when the driver of the motorcycle crashed into the SUV head-on.

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries.  The condition of the individual driving the SUV and its passengers was not made available.

This fatality crash happened at about 7 p.m.   Traffic in the vicinity of the accident (Old Auburn and Sylvan Road) was re-routed for hours while investigators tried to determine a cause of the crash.
